I'm not going to write these into a cohesive post today, but I wanted to share some thoughts I've been given today.
#1. "Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised" (Prov. 31:30).
#2. I read this in my EW magazine this morning:
"With the dawn of each new day, Christ is eagerly waiting and wanting to spend time with you. Isn't that comforting and confirming? He pursues you - wholeheartedly and with abandon - right now...and all the time. Jesus is totally in love with you! You are in His thoughts constantly, and His heart is entirely inclined toward you. As you choose to respond to His pursuit and spend time with Him, He woos you further and deeper into an even greater understanding of His love for you" (Elizabeth George).
This is exactly the kind of relationship I want and have been searching for: someone who can't wait to spend time with me; who pursues me with unmistakable intent; who thinks about me when we're apart; who desires to know everything about me and when he does, still finds me enchanting and delightful. It's taken years for me to realize I've actually had it all along. I have Someone who loves me, has chosen me as His bride, and wants to spend forever with me. And He's not just anybody. He is the King of heaven! The greatest celebrity ever. "How sweet it is to be loved by you!" (Thank you, James Taylor.)
#3. Also from the EW magazine: "Choose to have a passionate heart. Be on fire for the Lord. Let your life reflect your intense passion for Jesus. When a teakettle is boiling on the stove, it sputters and steams, hops up and down, and jiggles. Likewise, let your love for God overflow, pouring out into your life...and into the lives of those around you. Speak often of what God has done for you" (Elizabeth George).
Gives new meaning to "I'm a little teapot," doesn't it? :) How I want to be one of those people who can't help but overflow onto others all the amazing things God has done for me and is teaching me daily!
