New Year's Challenge

My friend Elizabeth told me about a scripture memory challenge that Beth Moore gives to her readers/sisters (aka "siestas") every year.  The challenge is to memorize a new verse every two weeks.  I love having a structured program and accountability to keep me motivated, so I have joined the challenge.  Next January, all the members of the 2011 Siesta Scripture Memory Team will get together and share our verses with one another.  The thought of reciting my verses to strangers is a little scary, but I know having these verses hidden in my heart will be worth it.  I should have posted my first verse on here January 1, but I didn't think of it.  Like my daily "Fresh Words," I'd like you to keep my accountable with my memorizing by asking me to quote my verses to you.  Those participating in the challenge can choose any verses they want to memorize; here are my first two:
  • Psalm 103:4-5 "[The Lord] redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so your youth is renewed like the eagle's."
  • Proverbs 16:4 "Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established."
