Word

Rom. 4:19: "Without wavering in his faith, Abraham faced the fact that his body was as good as dead - since he was about a hundred years old - and that Sarah's womb was also dead."

Even physical impossibility did not keep Abraham from believing that God would do what He said He would do.  Abraham knew he was much too old to father a child, not to mention the fact that his wife was sterile.  And yet he still believed God, without wavering.  Without wavering!  How many times do I look at my circumstances and determine what God is capable of doing in that situation?  How many times do I not even ask for something because I have decided it's impossible?  That there is no way God can come through on this one; there is no good that could ever result from it?  Oh me of teeny-tiny faith!  Why do I limit God to only that which I understand or can imagine?  I am sure James was speaking to me when he said, "You do not have because you do not ask God" (4:2).  I pray God will increase my faith and teach me to believe Him, despite all evidence to the contrary.
